What’s your secret?

Every drug rehab patient has a Secret. There’s always something, you know: that one thing in the deepest, darkest part of your brain that you can’t-won’t ever tell anyone about. Maybe it’s part of the reason why you started using drugs in the first place; maybe it’s the thing that convinced you to finally enter a drug rehab facility, after you’d seen that you couldn’t afford to wait any longer. In any case, it’s yours…and you’ll be damned if you’re going to go spilling it to the first snoop who comes asking for it.

But here’s the problem: You’ve got to.

That’s how drug rehab works, when you really get down to it: You tell your Secret, get it off your chest, let it go in a way that frees you from it and yourself and lets you achieve the sort psychological healing that drug rehab centers prize above all else. It’s not easy of course (nothing about drug treatment is ever easy)…but you don’t have a choice. No one gets better in drug rehab without cleaning out his closets, and facing up to his demons.
